Mike started playing drums when he was 10 years old in elementary school. In middle school he studied and played drum set in the school Jazz band and snare drum in the marching band while studying under a private instructor.

Mike moved to Florida for High School, where he began studying guitar and began to take in interest music theory and artist development. He also began his teaching career, teaching beginner students how to play drums and guitar in addition to tutoring students in mathematics and science.

After graduating high school, Mike attended Florida Atlantic University (FAU), where he studied mathematics and took minor studies in music business, music theory and began studying the didgeridoo and performance. During this time, Mike continued to teach music as well as tutoring kids in academics and built a large clientele base.

After graduating from FAU, Mike took a break from drums to pursue a law degree at New York Law School. Upon completing his degree and passing the New York Bar, Mike immediately began to refocus his studies on music and now logs his studies at MyDrumJourney.com, where you can see exactly what Mike is practicing, and the challenges he faces each and every day to maintain focus and drive while practicing.
